Annapurna Base Camp + Mardi Himal

Annapurna Base Camp is definitely one of the more famous treks in the Nepal Himalayas, with lots of trekkers from all around the world flocking it to admire the magical snow-capped peaks. This trek is a busy one but what makes it unique is that you start seeing the mighty snowcaps from day one itself!

However, we have tweaked our itinerary to give you the best of both worlds by adding an offbeat Mardi Himal trek to it. This gives you an opportunity to experience not only the bustling ABC but also a quieter Mardi Himal trek, all while admiring the magical Machhapuchhre mountain throughout.

A complete ridge trail makes the Mardi Himal trek stand out in Annapurna Conservation Area whereas the Annapurna Base Camp takes you through some of the prettiest villages of the Himalayas like Ghandruk, Chhomrong, and Jhinu. During the beginning, this trek will take you through the world's largest rhododendron forest and dense bamboo jungles, only to end on a serene ridge walk.

As for ABC, the only trek where the big mountains are seen from day one itself, Annapurna South, Himalchuli and Machhapuchhre are with you throughout the trek and they simply keep getting more mesmerising as the trek proceeds.

The bottom line is while you do cover a lot of distance, making this trek slightly challenging, averaging about 10 km a day, right from day five, you can see not only Annapurna but its entire family of eight making it a trek worth every effort you put in.
